I have seen GlamGlow on the market for the past five years, and have had it tested on my hand in a Canadian Sephora. When I needed a new mask, this seemed like the obvious choice. Initially the ‘flashy’ branding put me off, but I am glad that I went with this product. I am absolutely hooked – in fact, I have it on right now!
Touting itself as a ‘facial in a jar,’ the GlamGlow brand claims that it will help you “Get your Youthful Sexy Glow back in just 10 minutes.”
While the product may look like something from a Hollywood infomercial, I cannot overstate the results. The tingling effect sets to work right away, and the gentle scrubbing action reveals baby soft skin.
While I must admit that I haven’t noticed the ‘youthful’ effects as much as I had hoped, the softness has me sold. My skin feels firm, hydrated and well exfoliated.
Texture And Application
Applying this product could not be easier (although you will want to ensure you don’t have anywhere to go).
The enclosed instructions are as follows: “Apply a Thin Layer to Clean Face. Expect a Tingle-tastic Tightening Effect in 10 minutes or less. Remove Mask with Water in Circular Motions to exfoliate. Use Twice a Week or as often as Desired.”
This is completely accurate. I like to apply in the bath, as it is easy to remove without making a mess. The one time I did apply and try to remove at the bathroom sink, I did find that I splashed water everywhere.
That is because the mask is quite stubborn! While it does rinse off, you do need to use the recommended circular motions to get a scrubbing effect. The scrubbing action seems to break down the clay, allowing it to come off of the skin more easily. Don’t even bother trying to use a washcloth! Trust me – do this in the bath or shower.
I finish up by spritzing my face with Lush Breath of Fresh Air toner, and then let everything air dry. Afterward, I add Korres Magnolia Day Cream – the results are amazing. Soft, plump and hydrated. I can’t say that I notice a huge reduction in wrinkles, but it makes my skin feel and look great.
Purchase Experience And Price
I purchased my GlamGlow directly from the website, and the experience was professional and simple. Their website has a very user- friendly design, and it was easy to select the product that I wanted.
My order arrived within a week, and the package included 2 extra free samples. I was able to select these in advance, and I chose the Gravity Mud Firming Treatment and the Thirsty Mud Hydrating Treatment. I appreciated this, as it gave me a chance to try some of their other products.
Over all, I was really impressed by the purchase experience. I would recommend shopping directly on GlamGlow’s site to anyone who wants a simple transaction. My 50 gram jar of Youthmud Tinglefoliate Treatment cost £33.15, and shipping was free.
While this may seem a little high for a mask with a maximum of 6 applications, I think that it is more than fair. I rarely encounter something that does what it says on the tin like GlamGlow. I would pay even more for this product!
The quality of the ingredients impressed me and the number of all natural products in GlamGlow. Here are some of the key ingredients and their benefits:
Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea Leaf)
The GlamGlow brand is very hyped about Green Tea! They claim that it is “the ‘magic’ behind our powerful anti-aging and anti-wrinkle results. Delivering fresh antioxidants directly into the mud to hydrate, balance oil production and fight free radical damage.”
They aren’t wrong! Green tea has long been valued as a tonic, drunk in massive quantities all over the world. It is naturally packed with anti-oxidants that protect your skin from free radicals. Green tea extract contains Methylxanthines that can stimulate circulation in your skin, benefiting tone and over all health.
Montmorillonite (Volcanic Minerals)
Montmorillonite gets its name from a city in France. It is packed with minerals, such as magnesium, calcium, potassium, iron, manganese, sodium and silica. Its unique structure is composed of negatively-charged particles, and these attract dirt and grime, pulling them from your skin’s surface.
Kaolin (French Sea Clay)
Another French clay! Kaolin has been used in masks for centuries because of its absorbent and smoothing properties. It is excellent for oily skin, but it won’t dry out dry skin.
Pumice (Micro Volcanic Rock)
GlamGlow Tinglefoliate gets its exfoliating properties from Pumice, helping it to effectively cleanse and smooth your skin. Pumice is the cooled and hardened form of volcanic lava. It is an excellent exfoliant, and it gently removes all dead skin from your face. It also includes many minerals.
Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract (Chamomile)
While you might think of chamomile as being solely for tea, it is also a strong anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal, anti-bacterial and anti-septic. What can’t it do? It can help to heal minor irritation and cuts on the skin, and fights free radicals.
Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract (Comfrey Herb)
Comfrey has long been used in home remedies, as it contains allantoin. This is a natural chemical that works to protect your skin and help promote skin cell growth.
Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract
The most common member of this botanical family is the familiar cucumber! As you know, many people place cucumber slices on their eyes to reduce swelling. That is because Cucumis Sativus has many anti-inflammatory properties. Its pH is also very similar (some say identical to human skin), and it is very hydrating.
Full List Of Ingredients:
Aqua (Water), Montmorillonite (Volcanic Minerals), Kaolin (French Sea Clay), Magnesium Aluminum Silicate (Purified Clay), Polyethylene, Pumice (Micro Volcanic Rock), Camellia Sinensis Leaf (Green Tea Leaf), Camellia Oleifera Leaf Extract (Green Tea), Chamomilla Recutita Flower Extract (Chamomile), Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract (Marigold), Cucumis Sativus Fruit Extract (Cucumber), Hedara Helix Extract (Ivy), Symphytum Officinale Leaf Extract (Comfrey Herb), Lavandula Hybrida Oil (Lavender), Glycerin (Vegetable), Parfum, [Benzyl Benzoate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool], Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Hexylene Glycol, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, Methylisothiazolinone.
Health Hazard Scores
I ran the GlamGlow’s ingredients through the EWG (Environmental Working Group’s) Skin Deep Cosmetics Database. This database uses a rubric that rates ingredients on scale of 1 to 10, with 10 being the most hazardous. I entered each ingredient individually.
Hedara Helix Extract is not in their database. The extract of English Ivy has anti-inflammatory properties. From my research, I can state that this is a safe ingredient.
Most of the ingredients scored at a 1 or a 2, meaning that they are completely harmless. However, four ingredients scored a 6, and two scored a 7. These were: Benzyl Benzoate, Hexyl Cinnamal, Limonene, Linalool, Methylchloroisothiazolinone, and Methylisothiazolinone. This designates them as having moderate and high moderate hazard. I feel conflicted by this – most of these are in the perfume. This is a risk I am willing to take.
Packaging And Jar
I really appreciated the attractive box with its glittery foil and bold branding. However, the box was a little on the large size and could probably use less paper. The box was certainly sturdy enough to protect the jar inside.
The jar inside is smaller than I expected, with an attractive silver dome lid and the brand’s signature star. Since I chose the Youth Mud, the branding is black and silver, but each product is different (pink, orange, blue, etc.).
The jar comes with a small spatula, which I appreciate. This prevents me from having to stick my fingers inside the jar. This prevents contamination, as no matter how much you wash your hands, they are covered in bacteria. When I am trying to cleanse my face, I don’t want to accidentally cover it in harmful bacteria!

Overall Results And Daily Experience
As a full GlamGlow convert I really look forward to trying the two free samples I received. I can see myself buying their products going forward, and always having one on hand. I also highly recommend using one of the masks before a special holiday or big night out.
These are cosmetics giant Sephora‘s stats about how well it works:
- 97% agreed it left their skin smoother, brighter, and softer after 1 day of use.
- 91% agreed it brightened their dull skin after 1 day of use.
- 100% agreed it brightened their dull skin after using it 3 times during a 7 day period.
- 94% agreed it provided gentle surface exfoliation after 1 day of use.
- 97% agreed it provided gentle surface exfoliation after using it 3 times during a 7 day period.
Those are rave reviews, and while I would usually be dubious of these claims, I have to say that I agree. Definitely worth the money – try this one out.
