I’ve been attempting to build and steady and consistent gym routine for several years now. Fitness isn’t necessarily something which comes naturally to me, nor is it something I particularly enjoy. I took to Holland and Barrett to take a look for some different food supplements after doing my research, because I trust this brand implicitly. They’ve never let me down when it comes to ordering products previously, offering high quality, great results and super speedy delivery.

I found a host of different vitamins and supplements designed to help boost my immune system and some multi vitamins for everyday use, which I immediately added into my basket. One thing which caught my eye however, was the concept of ‘fat burners’, which was something that I was previously unaware of.

Of course, losing weight or losing fat is one of my personal goals for working out, so it was something I wanted to know more about.

Green tea extract is something I’ve looked into before, and I try to drink green tea daily as part of a healthy and balanced lifestyle. I also liked that H&B promote as something which should be implemented into a healthy routine, rather than a miracle working product.

I figured that because I try to eat well and exercise semi regularly, I would have nothing to lose by trying these products out. At £12.99 for 120 tablets, I thought this was really good value for money. I decided to add them to my basket and give them a go.

I certainly wasn’t expecting miracles to be worked with the Holland Barrett Fat Metaboliser Food Supplements, having absolutely no experience of using these types of food supplements in the past. The product packaging warns you to take one in the morning and one in the early afternoon, strictly not in the evening.

This was slightly concerning for me because I was unsure about what sorts of side effects would accompany the Holland Barrett Fat Metaboliser Food Supplements. I expected increased energy levels for fat burning, but I want something I can seamlessly fit into my routine without experiencing huge side effects.

I was hoping that the product would help to elevate my results from healthy eating and working out, and I would see some weight loss and toning all around, at a quicker rate than usual. However, I wasn’t too ambitious about whether or not they’d actually work.

I’ll hold my hands up here and say that I’m not particularly familiar with many of the ingredients. Though there isn’t anything which stands out to me as negative, I can see green tea extract and cayenne pepper, as well as vitamin b6 – three ingredients I’m familiar with.

Away from technical jargon, I can see that the tablets are free from artificial colours, flavours and sweeteners, which is good.

There is no added sugar or salt, and the tablets suit vegetarians and vegans. These are all really positive things for me, and I was happy that the product met all of my specific requirements for a tablet that I was looking to incorporate into my routine.

Receiving The Fat Metabolisers

As always with Holland and Barrett, the delivery was incredibly quick and easy. With regards to the actual Holland Barrett Fat Metaboliser Food Supplements tablets themselves, the packaging is great. It’s a bright red plastic bottle with a red cap on top. It easily pops open to dispense the product.

The label is simple, with clear text printed right across it. The back of the bottle lists all of the ingredients and one can read concise instructions. The bottle is quite small, which means it’s incredibly discreet to pop in your bag and take with you on the go. Similarly, the bright red colour makes it easy to spot in your bag and easy to take on the go.

The actual tablets themselves are small and incredibly easy to digest. There’s no particular taste or flavour, and you can take them with or without water at your own convenience. I definitely felt like I had more energy throughout the day after taking the two tablets throughout the day. The best routine for me was one in the morning with breakfast, and one with lunch around 1pm.

I did this easily throughout the working week, and I definitely felt more energised when it came to my workouts in the gym.

After a few weeks of using the products, I definitely did see a difference. I felt more energy, I was more present in the gym and I felt like my rate of weight loss had increased. I noticed results quicker than I would usually see them, and I felt more toned and was really happy with my progress.

However, I’m not sure if I could fully attribute this to the food supplements – or whether I was more energised, eating better and working out.

It’s difficult to tell whether the results were directly from the tablets, or whether the tablets encouraged me to be healthier with my diet and my workout routine.

My Verdict?

I feel like a few weeks into using the Holland Barrett Fat Metaboliser Food Supplements I was certainly happy and seeing results. However, as previously mentioned, I’m unsure how much this had to do with the product.

I will say though, that whether it was the product themselves, or simply me feeling inspired to have a good routine, it certainly was a positive in my life and I was glad to have them.

I haven’t stuck to the routine of taking them twice a day, and there have been days where I’ve left the tablets at work or in the wrong handbag, and have found myself without them. However, I’ve been semi-consistently taking them and I’m happy that they’re doing quite well for me.
