Why have I tested the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo & Conditioner?
Now I’d like to begin by saying as humbly as I possibly can, I’ve always been incredibly lucky with my hair. It’s long, thick, naturally poker straight but manages to hold any style without hairspray. It does exactly what I want it to and whilst it occasionally looks a little questionable when I first wake up, on the whole it’s pretty easy to tame.
I can generally go a good few days without washing it – thanks to my trusty life partner dry shampoo of course. However, recently my hair had stopped playing ball and was starting to look a little limp and lifeless. Gone were the days of endless volume and bounce and instead I was looking a little flat, kind of frizzy and I was finding that my hair was getting greasy seriously quickly.
Any girl who has long hair knows how much of an arduous task it is to dry long locks – so as you can imagine, having to wash my hair more regularly when in the shower was really starting to grind my gears. It was clear that my shampoo routine just wasn’t working for me and I needed a refresh.
There are few things I splash out on when it comes to myself, but my skin care and hair care routines are one area where I don’t mind splurging on products I think will be worth it.
I wanted a new shampoo and conditioner that would breathe a little life into my hair, give me the bounce back, ban the frizz and help me to get a few more days out of each wash. After a lot of research online about which types of ingredients I needed to achieve these results. I decided that I was very keen on moroccan oil.
Why Choose OGX?
However, after a good old trawl through google I found that the majority of branded products which contain moroccan oil are a little more pricey. Despite previously saying that I’ll happily splash out on hair care, for a girl who usually picks up some bargain shampoos and conditioners at 2 for £3 in the supermarket, I wasn’t quite ready to stretch to around £30 per bottle. However, when I stumbled across the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo & Conditioner retailing at £6.95 each, my interest was piqued.
The OGX website states the argan oil shampoo will ‘help restore and strengthen your locks to silky perfection’ and after reading a couple of glowing 5* reviews on their website, I decided to take the plunge and purchase them.
Receiving The Products
I ordered the products from Fragrance Direct, and they absolutely never let me down. I find their prices to be the best on the internet and for their delivery to be super speedy. The delivery which arrived the next working day although I hadn’t paid for next day delivery. Thus is always a little bonus.
The OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo & Conditioner were packaged in a simple envelope and whilst nothing too fancy, they arrived immaculately and because I ordered the products through a different retailer it was all I could have asked for to be honest.
The bottles themselves are pretty special. In a gorgeous teal blue with gold and black detailing, the bottles certainly stand out on the shelf and I love the unique curved shape. They’re squeezy and easy to get the perfect amount of product out of, and the text is clear and concise on both sides.
The shampoo itself is a gorgeous gold flecked liquid with a thick consistency. The conditioner has more of a creamy yellow shade. Both are so pretty and flecked with gold that they truly feel luxurious as you apply them. This is something usual in a low-cost product.
What’s In Them?
With a product that features argan oil but is still decent in cost, I must admit I was pretty intrigued the other ingredients. and whether or not there was anything nasty lurking there which might be driving the price down. Here’s what I found:
Ingredients & Health Hazard Analysis
OGX Argan Oil Shampoo
OGX Argan Oil Conditioner
The ingredients for both of these products are relatively clean. I had been nervously anticipating a product full of dangerous ingredients. I didn’t think that these products could be high quality at such a low price compared to similar products on the market. Only a few different ingredients marked 7/10, which admittedly is quite high.
If these were products I was putting on my face I might be slightly more concerned – and though the few ingredients which register as a 7 obviously aren’t great, there isn’t enough there to put me off using the product which is at a great price point.
However, I hadn’t actually used the product yet, so I was looking forward to putting them to the test.

Did They Meet Expectations?
Using the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo & Conditioner, I could instantly tell from the first wash that they’d made my hair feel incredible. Whilst in the shower after washing the conditioner off I could feel that my hair was silky smooth and knot-free, creating a really different feel to what I was having with my previous shampoo.
After drying my hair, I was very happy! My straight hair became super sleek, incredibly soft and smelled simply delicious thanks to this shampoo. Gone was the frizz and the fly-away hair and instead my hair was back to its glossy best. Going to work the next day I felt a bit like Beyonce if I’m being honest – and that’s worth the £6.95 a bottle alone!
After using the OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo & Conditioner for a few weeks – my hair feels thicker, I’ve been wearing it down and straight a lot more and it’s been lasting a lot more days without needing washing. My hair is not only back to its best, but even better than that I think!
The OGX Argan Oil of Morocco Shampoo & Conditioner has made my hair feel so soft and fabulous that I have already ordered a backup pair of bottles.
Now that they sit on the shelf in the bathroom my boyfriend also has his mitts on it and declared them his favourite shampoo ever. So there you go guys, it works miracles for both girls and boys!
I would 100% recommend these products to anyone looking to pay slightly more than high street and supermarket prices for shampoo for genuinely fantastic results.
